
ELIZABETH ACOSTA has been a member of various vocal groups dedicated to promoting the untapped music of Latin America and Spain, and in recent years has ventured out on her own for an ever deeper exploration of the exquisite complex music of these varied countries.
Ms. Acosta has sung with such groups as Alborada Latina and Musica Hispana. She is well versed in Zarzuela, having performed roles such as Luisa in "Luisa Fernanda" and La Roldan in "El Barbero de Sevilla." Her operatic roles include Cherubino in "Le Nozze Di Figaro" and Rosina in "The Barber of Seville." She has appeared on the Broadway stage in "Cyrano the Musical" and "The Secret Garden." She can be heard on recordings of "King Island Christmas" and "Juan Darien," and "Canciones del Caribe" with Mr. Hupton. She continues voice-over work and teaches at the Diller-Quaile School of Music in NYC.This concert is dedicated to her father Armando who always graced her life with a love of the beauty of art and song.
