Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Is food available at a silent film showing?
Answer: Depending on the sponsors preference, the usual snack fare, e.g. popcorn, candy and soft drinks are available. We want the audience to help create a true silent film theater experience.

Answer: The Biograph Players enjoy screening comedies. The audience reaction is always positive and the overall experience very memorable. Laughter is such great medicine. However, we also offer an October-November Halloween screening of The Phantom of the Opera, starring Lon Chaney
Question: How much are tickets to a silent film screening?
Answer: Ticket prices are left to the descretion of the sponsoring organization, but tickets are usually $10.00-$12.00 in advance, $15.00 at the door; $35.00/family.
Question: How much is the fee for a silent film show?
Answer: Please contact the Biograph Players for fee information. Depending on the geographical locale, fees can include air fare. However, all fees include the film and projection equipment if unavailable at your facility.
Question: How many people usually attend a silent film festival?
Answer: Of course, attendance depends on the size of the facility and the amount of promotion undertaken. Every festival the Biograph Players has played for has been filled to 90-100% of capacity.
Question: Can children attend a silent film festival?
Answer: We recommend children from 9 or 10 years of age and older experience a silent film showing. Some pictures include humor that is rather subtle for very young children. Parents should use their own judgement regarding a child's ability to remain entertained for a two hour period of time. (We heartily recommend bringing your grandparents!)
